Lesson Fees in Brevard County
National Registration Fee
All students must complete the registration process through the National ISR office prior to starting their first in-water lesson. Registration forms must be filled out and paid for online. Once you have completed the Pre-enrollment form, your chosen instructor will send you their personal instructor code to register online.
The National Registration fee is $105.00 initially, then $35.00 annually for refresher students, which will cover the cost of a screening procedure to assess the physical and developmental readiness of your child, will be paid online via Pay Pal or credit card when you submit the National Registration form.
Once you complete the registration the home office will contact your instructor and send her your child's information. You will then get a confirmation from your instructor for a lesson start date and time. Within a few days you will receive a package in the mail. It will include a t-shirt for your child, a swim diaper that your child will need to wear during lessons with a second layer of protection (if not yet toilet trained), brochures to share with friends, a decal for your car and your copy of the Parent Resource Book.
Weekly Instructor Fee (New and Returning Students)
Instuctor Fees are $65.00 per week payable by cash or check. Payment is due weekly on Mondays. There is a $10 weekly discount for siblings. Typically it takes an average of 4-6 weeks for a 1-6 year old child to become skilled, however, ISR lessons are always tailored to each child's individual emotional and physical pace. Babies 6 to 12 months typically take an average of 3-4 weeks to become skilled.
Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available to those who qualify. ISR’s goal is to prevent drowning and through our ISR Community of Caring, we offer lesson fee scholarships to families in need, to ensure that no child is prevented from enrolling in ISR Lessons due to financial need. Funds are set aside by ISR on an annual basis for families in need to apply for financial assistance to cover a portion of the cost of program participation.
You can help too! Please visit the Infant Swimming Resource SEAL STORE to purchase ISR apparel and merchandise. Portions of the proceeds from sales on the Seal Store will go to our Community of Caring Scholarship Program, which assists under privileged families in providing their children the potentially lifesaving skills learned in ISR lessons. Thank you for your support!
Attendance Policy
Consistency is crucial when learning survival swimming skills. Bringing your child every day will increase the rate of progress and retention of skills. Lessons are not pro-rated and you are required to pay for all scheduled lessons. Remember you are paying for a time slot and it is important that you strictly adhere to the attendance policy as there is most likely another student waiting for your child’s time slot. You’re child is allowed to miss 2 (two) lessons without penalty, any missed lessons beyond 2 will be charged as usual.
Lessons cancelled by the Instructor (for instructor illness, weather, pool closures, vacation, etc.) are fully credited back to you. If you need special arrangements or have a planned vacation, please feel free to discuss this with your instructor.
Maintenance Lessons
Once your child had completed the ISR Self-Rescue Course, you may schedule weekly Maintenance Lessons in order to continue practing his or her skills on a weekly basis. Maintenane Lessons are $15.00 per lesson payable by cash or check. A minimum of 4 lessons must be scheduled and paid in advance. Most maintenance lessons are scheduled once a week or twice every other week. Time slots are very limited-speak to your instructor if you think your child could benefit from maintenance lessons.
Refresher Lessons
Upon completion of their initial lessons, every child should take a short 1-3 week refresher course the following year to help them adjust to their new body size in the water and re-evaluate their skill set.
